Dr. Bennett’s office also stays up-to-date with the latest technologies for treating the knee including the osteoarticular transfer system (OATS) and the autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI).  Dr. Bennett has offices in Sugar Land and in the Galleria Section of Houston and you can make an appointment by calling 281-633-8600 for Sugar Land or 713-234-3152 for Houston.

Dr. Bennett recorded a video of a typical orthopedic knee examination to help patients understand how the examination is conducted.

Some of our knee patients are candidates for the Signature™ Personalized Patient Care System, and either the Vanguard® Complete Knee for total knee replacement or the Oxford® Partial Knee for partial knee replacement.  However, not all patients may be candidates for these systems and patients may be referred, if necessary.  We have a link to more information about knee treatment options.

Here’s what some of our patients say:

First, I have had my other knee operated on twice so I know what it is like (or I thought I knew what it was like). Second, I have never written a note or letter about anything I expect to be done properly.  This surgery was absolutely the easiest thing I have ever had done. I went in with my knees hurting between 4 and 8 all of the time depending on whether I was sitting or walking. When I left the surgery I walked out to the car from the chair and had no pain. I have had no pain since the surgery whatsoever except a little aching and Tylenol took care of that. My left knee that you put the supartz in went from a 6 to a 0.  I cannot thank you enough from the beginning to the end was wonderful. It helps when the doctor comes to visit with a big smile of confidence before the surgery too. Thank you so much, see you next week. Mike Schriver, Katy, TX.

Dr. Bennett operated on my right knee to repair tears that he found upon examination and x-rays. I was walking after two days and my knee feels better. I felt comfortable with him performing my procedure and his staff is great!  by DD.

Here’s Dr. J. Michael Bennett talking about his practice as a knee doctor.

This is a transcript of the video:

Hello and welcome! My name is Dr. J. Michael Bennett. I’m an orthopedic and sports medicine physician practicing in the Houston, Katy, and Sugar Land regions.   I have extensive training in minimally invasive and open surgical procedures involving pathologies of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. We have been in practice in these areas over the past 7+ years, and I’m a member of the Fondren Orthopedic Group.

We’ve seen extensive injuries, particularly involving knees. I have taken care of any type of athlete from the Little League player to the baby boomers to anybody in between including the elite athletes, playing in collegiate and professional sports, and we do take care of complicated knee injuries such as multi-ligament injury of the knee, including ACL and MCL or the PCL ligament or cartilage resurfacing or restoration including the osteoarticular transfer system or the autologous chondrocyte implantation, where we actually take cartilage cells and implant cartilage cells in cartilage defects.

There’s a lot of new and exciting technologies out there regarding cartilage resurfacing and particularly regarding the knee and we do our best to stay abreast of the current technologies regarding reconstruction of the knee. In addition to doing the ligament reconstruction as well as meniscus repair and cartilage resurfacing and restoration, we also do realignment procedures in the knee and in the bone of the knee.

So feel free to contact our office or go to our websites for more information regarding knee injuries. Our websites are orthopedicsportsdoctor.com or JMichaelBennett.com and our office number is 281-633-8600. Thank you.

If you’re experiencing problems with your knee and you’d like to schedule an evaluation, you can do that by calling our offices at 281-633-8600 for Sugar Land or 713-234-3152 for Houston. You can also click the Book an Appointment button to schedule online.  We look forward to meeting you!
